Hi all,

Im a bit ashamed to post this, but I've looked all over the interweb and can't work it out. Our 2004 Jeep Cherokee CRD has developed a water leak. I've just been out to look and from what I can tell its coming from a aluminium cylinder shaped tank just behind the battery (passenger side). Water pipes go in and out - but apart from this I can't quite tell what it is!

I've found a picture on the net - you can see the silver canister just behind the battery. (Please ignore the red arrows - they are just on there from the original posters write up).

Cheers

Phil

Air con. The "leak" may be condensation?

Interesting - all seems dry after turning off the engine, then if you go back out to the car after 10 mins there is a small puddle on the floor and you can see it dripping down.

The full story goes like this:

Friday - low coolant light on - topped up with about 1/2 a litre

I was worried about a leak/ headgasket etc - so have been checking under the car. Then today i found that after coming back to the car after 10 mins there was a small puddle. Water on to of this cannister and it looks to be running down the pipes then onto the floor.

Cheers

Aircon. The puddle is just condensate. Soak a bit up with a tissue. A pound to a penny it is clear water.

Brilliant - cheers!

I think i've been paranoid about a leak since having to top up the coolant. I'll just keep an eye on things now.

I know it's not a very PH car but I do love the old 2.8CRD lump!
