Considering my current duo a Disco & a Navara I'm tempted to get RAC or AA etc cover.

Any one provider better than the others?

Thoughts please

Autoaid? £40 for you and your spouse.

I havent bought recovery or breakdown cover for a while, but thought I'd do it this year. I also dont seem to remember the breakdown companies offering a quote per customer, thought it was all fixed price menu type things.

After trying to usual suspects and being asked for £150+ I went with a broker rescuemycar.com or about £40

Used to be with the AA but they started adding bits on each year that I didn't ask for or need (along with a nice increase in price), so I went with Green Flag instead.

Never heard of them, a quick look on the RAC app is around £170 for the two of us but that is with extra's.

After being an AA member for many years and after considering all my options, I plumped for ADAC.

Not had a need to call them out yet, but do know that it's the AA who will come to the rescue in the UK. And for less than half the price of the AA and for a more comprehensive service smile

Autoaid isn't a recovery service as such, but insurance. If you breakdown, they'll send a local recovery firm to you which you have to pay there and then.

You then claim that cost back from Autoaid, who generally pay out in just over a week.

All favourable reviews online and much cheaper for two people than RAC or AA.

I get NHS discount on AA membership. My car is covered (not me in any car) for about £40 per year. Renewal is about double so I intend the cancel and take a new contract at £40 again

Hassle. But then fifteen mins on the phone is worth £40 to me

AutoAid have been brilliant for me. To be honest, a lot of the time the AA or major providers will just send out local recovery anyway so you're getting a similar product.

The only hassle is paying by CC then submitting the claim form, but for the coverage £40 is a brilliant deal so worth it for me. They never do the renewal dance either, it's just the same price with a polite letter offering it to you.

So regarding Autoaid would I be correct in thinking that they don't do any physical work on your car? as an example if maybe a hose became slack and simply required somebody with a bit of knowledge & the correct tools to so rectify the issue.

They basically do what the AA/RAC do. If it's an easy fix, they will fix it, if not they will take the car to a destination of your choice.

I'm sure their website has the small print of exactly what they do.

What about AA with their BRC cover, means you get £500 toward cost of repair if you do breakdown? I got my cover cheaper than they quoted on line too as AA seem to be happy to haggle a little!

Bit of piece of mind if your cars out of warranty?
