Thought it was high time i went for one of these, even if its its now the older model,
query, my home is on a dead end lane, at least a 1/2 mile from nearest fixed camera i can think of, and yet RA goes off, as soon as i turn of into our street.
no traffic lights/speed signs, of any kind near here so whats hapening?

I think you can set the warning distance on these, and 1/2 mile is the default for the first warning. IIRC, you can also choose to ignore certain gatso's etc if you know they are there and wish to ignore the warning if it happens too regularly.

For those on the cheap DIY option Everyday Practical Electronics has a DIY system which is a GPS Unit, a few bits of bobs,a PIC Microcontroller (poor taste) on a bit of veroboard...

I'd bought and paid for mine on E-bay last week, not knowing this thrilling bit-of-gossip in advance but would only have saved about £25 if I'd waited anyway.
