Hi there,
I dont know if i need to take the car in to the dealer to have a look at, but ever since picking up my vantage ive never thought the Air conditioning was that good. It never seems to get particualy cold. Now i dont know if ive been spoilt with my 5 series but the car seems to get pretty warm and the air con does not really touch it. Im yet to drive her on a really hot day ... but think it could be a little uncomfortable.

any ideas ?

Probably just needs a re-gas.

I have an 06 Vantage with a similar issue. Had it re-gassed 3 years ago, was fine for another year then sprung a leak. Last year had a new compressor fitted and all is fine again

I do also seem to remember mention of a temp sensor and in winter/cold weather it wont really let it come on ....so if you are in the UK at this time of year, it does not get ice cold

Anyway, get the dealer to check it over and re-gas if necessary.....

Personally, I wouldn't bother to take it to the dealer for an air-con regas. You'll just get overcharged for a relatively simple job. Nor would I take it to somewhere like Kwik-st.

I imagine that you have probably got a local, mobile air-con specialist nearby. A quick google should produce his/her details. They should be able to test your system and then re-gas it, if necessary. All for the fraction of the price that AM would charge you. (Who might well sub-contract the job to a local, mobile specialist anyway!)

Ill probably go to AM first as ive had the car less than a month and would expect this to have been sorted before i even picked up the car ... so id like to think it would be fixed for free ...

Ah, fair enough. Hopefully they will sort it out under 'goodwill'. I don't imagine that it will be covered by any sort of warranty.
