Okay, I'm going to get some headphones soon enough. These will be used primarily at home with my mobile/iPad using streaming services such as Spotify. I generally listen to Pop, Dance, RAP type music with the odd bit of Rock. The problem I have is I'm unsure which to get? I want something with a punchy, fun sound. Here's where I will be flamed... Tried a set of the new Beats Solo2 and quite liked them! I just feel they have previously been all style, no substance compared to, say, AKG, Grado, B&W etc.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Grade are very good, also although they colour the sound a little the Bose noise cancelling head phones are incredible, very punchy and the bass makes the beats sound rubbish smile

Go try a few out

Thanks for the comments.

I might want to go to the gym with them the odd time or listen to them when Mrspigeonskirt is watching Coronation Farm, so I definitely want closed backed. I'm looking to spend up to £200, so the Bose noise cancelling headphones are kinda ruled out. I quite like the AKG Y50 although not heard them yet. Someone recommended Senheiser momentum but I thought they sounded a bit flat. Will try some of the others suggested about and see how they compare with the Solo 2's.

Update: I ended up buying some beats solo 2 off eBay for £100. I was a little worried they would be counterfeit, but when they arrived all my worries were dispelled. I have to say I'm very pleased with them! They are pleasant to listen to and provide plenty of punch for electronic / pop which is the sort of stuff I listen too. I don't find the bass over bearing like the old solo HD were either. Overall I'm very impressed with them, especially for what I paid!

Thanks for all your input!
