What is a realistic price to pay for these cars???

A few more details about the car I am looking at:

-380BHP
-1000kg
-Only 1hour since last engine rebuild, gearbox/suspension and brakes refresh (£32,000 cost).

Is it possible to convert these for road use?

Many thanks

Needs to be a lot more details to even contemplate a ball park figure.
The info so far suggests its not a original car

Many thanks Yellow, I have contacted the seller and am awaiting a response.
I see that only 51 were made. I'm not sure if this refers to road cars or road and race cars???
If the Chassis and Engine numbers match what would you expect to pay for say:

-A genuine 964RSR 3.8 race car
-Converted 964RSR 3.8 race-car for the road

Also is there a useful guide anywhere so that when I view the car I can proof that it is the real McCoy. If it turns out to be a conversion, how would this affect the price one should pay?

Firstly get it checked by a expert
They are not 1000kg,rarely 380 bhp, depends on spec of the engine.
If you want to pm me with info gladly help you out,i know most of them.
Has it recently been through a auction?
Matching numbers dont mean much unless you know the detail, lots of cars now getting matching numbers!!!
A good car is a great buy,one of the best handling 911 ever, also these rsr are very much under the radar still, the 964 &993 rsr.

Few people know 964/993 RSRs as well as Paul McLean from GTClassics so that is whose advice you should be asking if the car is in the UK.

The car could be ordered from factory with different specs for whatever racing the car was going to be entered in to, so one RSR to another will not necessarily be the same eg race fuel tank or standard tank; Le Mans gear box or sprint gear box BUT there are of course elements which are the same regardless - carbon reinforced glass fibre engine lid, aluminium doors and bonnet, no side indicators in front wings etc etc.

If you are serious speak to Paul M. Car recently sold at Goodwood auction for GBP 450k and didn't look like a great example from the pics I saw.

edited to add - if yellow491 is who i think it is, then he certainly knows his way around them too!

Hi Jimmy, many thanks for all your help, Yellow491 was very kind in giving great advise outside of this forum. He is who you probably think he is judging by his expertise in this field.

Aha just as I suspected. Macca the young, and taller, pretender.

Yep being well looked after thanks and with no intention to pass it on to the stirrers. Gonzalo gave us a damn good hosing and BJ to boot. Right old mess. Down in the land of the RHD 964rsr right now.

Must get some stuff planned for 2015.

Thread hijack over.

Cheers.

Can't really tell anything from that picture apart from the bloke that put the sticker on the back has dodgy eyes.

Regardless of whether talking 3.8 RS or RSR, RHD examples exist of both, albeit only one RHD RSR. RHD RSR has just been through a very extensive, well documented refurb in Australia and is well known down there and by all that have an interest in these very special cars.

Hi jim
I should have bought that car when i had the chance fron don,who sadly died not long after selling me the 993rsr.i think i got the better car though;).don also had a very nice blue gt2.
If there is a mag article or web info please let me know,as i would love to see it.
Rennsport reunion next year again,we will try and get jc & maca etc out, might have the rsr out to race at the event.
