EDC isn't essential as the standard set up is spot on anyway, I had EDC on mine as I just liked having an option of setting the car up a little differently but from what I have read all the owners without it are more than happy.

More of a residual factor unless your a track driver. EDC on the hardest setting is a bit much for a country blast.

I agree and it feels like it wants to bounce you off the road and into a field most of the time! I tended to sick it in normal if I was pushing on and comfort for going nice and steady.

As an owner of an E92 M3 with EDC, i can tell you in comfort mode it rides better then my father's E90 320d with m sport suspension.

Although the diesel doesn't do any favours to itself with run flat tyres.

It's also less bumpy then my e46 m3 i had before.

With the state of roads around the UK, i think EDC is essential.

I've had both the passive set up and the CP EDC set up (slighty different to the standard EDC)

The passive set up on either 18" or 19" is very good and you don't need anything else however people like to press buttons (and so do I!) so I got the CP car again in all modes it very good but the "normal" setting is the one I found myself in most of the time.

I wouldn't let the lack of EDC colour my choice.

I have a 1 series coupe with M Sport suspension and run flats. The ride is atrocious compared to my non EDC E90 M3.

The non EDC M3 rides absolutely fine and shouldn't be dismissed. Plus if you're running outside of warranty there's a bunch less to go wrong!
