From the pictures below is there anyway of proving that this car is a an RS and not just a replica. What are the best methods of proving authenticity (Chassis number, certain features et cetera)?

Chassis number and a quick visit to your local Porsche dealer. Will be able to tell you everything about the car from that.

That looks like a heavily modified car if it is a real RS.

As standard they have contrasting coloured wing mirrors. That looks like it's got 3.8 wing end plates but doesn't have the clear coat carbon wing plane as per the 3.8.

The door cards look interesting too.. Never seen that style before.

Gen2 RS had plastic rear screen, not sure about gen1 but that looks a bit too reflective to be plastic?

Can't see if it's got center locks or not...

Agreed...it looks a bit like a modified 997 GT3 (i.e. non RS)...but I am going on visual instinct. As mentioned earlier, chassis number should confirm.

It's narrow bodied so not an RS. It's also a gen1 car with some gen2 bits although you probably knew that already.

I'd say get a car that does what it says on the tin. Possibly less risk buying and certainly an easier sell in due course.

I believe the RS is 44mm wider at the rear. Amazed you can spot that from the pic. It is a 2007 so defo a Gen1. You are probably right about looking for an un-fettled for ease of resale but if the price is right it could make sense. I just need a little idea of what kind of price off-set I should be considering.

Assuming it is a genuine RS, would the heavily modded state have any detrimental effect on value. I am viewing it in the morning so I'll bear in mind all the pointers from you guyssmile It has all sorts of Carbon panels and many cup parts (diff 9:35, seats, airbox, lip, servo pump...), H&R suspension, Akropovic exhaust, BBS 19's....
Seller claims 1050KG; I find this a little hard to believe.
No way would it be 1050 kg,1300 would be good,i have never seen a door trim like that before, front cage not great for road use.Always worth a look though.

Gen 1 RS was a 3.6, not sure how you'd easily tell which engine this has - but it shouldn't be a 3.8.

Perhaps this is better described as a GT3 "optik"?

An unfallfrei GT3 is probably a better buy at similar money.

If I knew who had done the work and the treatment of the car, then for me, it could be worth slightly more than a standard one.

However, this one has undergone a whole range of modifications that don't all appeal. Engine capacity increase, decals, wheels, door cards, cage, sat nav. I'd expect it to be harder to insure and more likely to have issues than a standard one.

Quite a lot of car for 56 large. Nice if you could get the original parts as well. Pretty sure its an RS as it looks widebody, the wide cars have a plastic lower sill cover as opposed to all body colour on the narrow body cars.

Good spot. I think you're right.

Wrong rear bumper if it's supposed to be a 3.8. Wrong decals and rear spoiler if it's supposed to be a 3.6.
