I am thinking of driving from London to the Black Sea and that got me wondering who has made a long trip in their Aston. Finland and Bulgaria look like the longest drives from the UK while staying in standard insurance territory (the EU).

Someone here must have driven to the Transfagarasan. What about Istanbul? Shanghai?

It's likely someone has done LA-NY, which is longer than any European distance.

I've done 2700 on a Euro trip in a week. If that counts.

2000 miles in a long weekend to Monaco, via Macon and Grasse on the way down and Champagne on the way back. Effortless smile

1,800 miles last year to just south of Limoges and back with a little bit of touring in between.

When are you thinking of going. Would be interested in your route as I'm plotting something along those lines next summer. Definitely going to get as far as southern Germany. I would expect that overnight security will be a priority.

We have driven our DB6 Rally Car from Tower Bridge in London to Instanbul on the first leg of the Round the World Rally (which we won), and have driven the same car from Meintz in Germany to the Pyramids in Egypt in the Trial to the Nile.

I have also driven my DB5 non-stop from St Jean Cap Ferrat to Chelsea - almost 900 miles.

Last year we did a 5800 miles euro trip
This year we did a shorter one but still managed 950 miles in one day no problem

Calais to Dresden in 10 hours...Thinking of Prague if I am well enough with a little tour.. overnights not to much of a security problem...if you scout the hotels properly.

Euro tours normally around 250 miles a day give or take depending on route.thats what Astons are for..

Couldn't put it better - that really is outstanding

Like some others, I've done several 3,000-4,000 miles European road trips, typically over 7-8 days, with the cars (V8, V8S & V12 roadsters) performing faultlessly

Furthest for me in 1 day was hotel in Austria to Ruf in the morning (90 miles), then after tour round RUF, 610 miles to Calais (should have been c. 550 but was detoured), Eurotunnel then Folkstone - Altrincham (260 miles) so 960 miles in one very long day

I took plenty of breaks for fuel, leg stretching, etc but I was the sole driver...........I wouldn't attempt it again unless there was someone to swap drivers with regularly
