Evening Ladies & Gentlemen.
The well informed chap I bought my 06 MY DB9 from earlier this year said that Costco was a good source for engine oil.
They have 20% off until 23rd .
Looks like I'm spozed to put Mobil OW40 in there so thought of stocking up.
However, the current deal is Castrol Oils only and Edge OW-30 seems the nearest but I'm not about to take any risks.
Would this be suitable or not ?
If not, which Castrol product would be please ?
As always, many thanks.
L.R.

Check Eurocarparts. They are usually one of the cheapest.

0w 30 is thinner than 0w 40. If the latter is factory recommended, stick with it.

PS...there's a thread on here somewhere where you can ask OPIE oils for advice. They, too, run offers and provide a great service.

Thank you gentlemen.
Will act on this.
DTW - saw your new car. Very nice . People have said you "lucky". Is it luck or hard work & commitment ?
MBH - I'll look it up. You a shareholder/owner of OPIE Oils by any chance ?

Luck, I love that word and casual explanation for being successful. Luck Only exists on Red Dwarf where the intrepid crew discovered it was a virus smile

Tony Robbins summed it up "when planning and opportunity come together it creates the thing we call luck"

Which for me translates to it's all in your own hands. Mine, like most on here I imagine was bought through hard work and savings. Obviously I exclude Avinalarf who got his through the hard work of his ladyboys smile

Can you wait until Costco have an offer on Mobil 1 0-40, they usually do at some point as they stock it also and its usually one of the cheapest sources anyway.

Another thumbs up for Opie - I forgot the eleventh litre for mine last time and they posted it FOC. The oil that comes out given these short service intervals is a golden yellow and can be re-used in any Porsche or Mazda.

Only on the Aston Martin forum could a thread about cheap oil turn into a philosophical discussion about "luck" - fantastic. Agree with everything that's been said though, luck as a concept is used mostly by those that can't be bothered to get off their arse and make themselves "lucky".
