I hate shopping for Xmas presents, I really do.

Everywhere is gridlocked outside the shopping centres, the only spaces you seem to find empty have a Chelsea tractor or transit parked right on, or over the white line and shoppers seem to be miserable buggers.

I try to do stuff online, but if you are not in, you either have to go to your local PO or sorting office. And there is Always a queue inside and no parking outside.

Last year, I got nearly everything done, apart from perishables before the first of December, so I managed to avoid it all.
It's the best advice I can give any PHer.

Am I the only one that hates it though?

It's not hard to avoid it though. Go shopping early in the morning on a weekend, or late in the evening to avoid the majority of the queues. If you order online just get it delivered to where you work?

The easiest solution would be to rid ones self of superfluous friends and loved ones.

Buy everything online from Amazon and then pick it all up from one of their lockers located conveniently somewhere away from a location with a high density of assholes at whatever time suits you.

I would rather get 1 ginormous delivery from Amazon myself, but SWMBO likes to go to shops and see stuff, although she does this waaay before Xmas. The problem is then hiding all the stuff....hard to keep a 7 foot high teddy bear hidden in an estate car smile

Hey, what can I say.. I would admit to bad spell checking, but I have seen some sights where people compete over the last box of mince pies.

I will change it though, all the same. biggrin

My advise would be one of these. Long gone are the days of having to go to depos because I was at work. Plus, Amazon now deliver on Sunday.

You're working on the assumption that the Royal Mail actually attempt to deliver your parcel before leaving you a card...

Personally I enjoy Christmas shopping, but only if it's done in the evenings. Our local shopping centre is open later on Thursdays and Fridays (with free parking!)and if you go at the start of December, it's never too busy.
So basically, ys I do enjoy it. But only within very strict parameters!

100% this, early is good, it takes all the potential pain out of it. I'm being sent to Houston by my employer next week and I need to visit a shop called Bath and Body for the missus, then that is me done, hallelujah!!

You should plan and manage your time more appropriately perhaps?
