speedo refurb

Probably need to get my speedo refurbished. Other than speedy speedos (who I gather are anything but), does anyone know where I can get mine sorted?

speedy have had the water temperature gauge out of my car now for over two months with no sign they've actually done anything with it yet.

Speedo inaccurate esp at low speeds. Sensor changed with some improvement but Mat Smith feels speedo may need a refurb.

I don't really want the car off the road for 2 or more months.

We used "Speedy Cables" back in the early/mid nineties when I was involved in restoration.

"Speedy Cables" have been around for years and they do know what they're doing, but they've always been painfully slow.

We used them a lot but ended up renaming them "Sleepy Cables", they can be incredibly frustrating to work with and I suspect they will never change.

But they do do a good job!

I've not used either but they could be worth a try, JDO quotes TVR in their list of marques so I'd try them first.

Just had my speedo refurb due to odometer failure. Used Speedy Cables they did a good job. I was aware they do take a long time so I waited to after summer.

It took 8 weeks to get the speedo back.

I used JDO instruments after mileometer stuck at 49999.
Did a good job and had it turned around in about 10 days.
Speedo still working fine three years on

Two months from "Sleepy Cables" vs 10 days from "JDO Instruments" ...no contest!

Roughly what did JDO charge?

Slight diversion, but I have a occassionally 'sticking' Griff rev counter (fine on rover guage)- do either company fix those too?
