I CANT GET MY BONNET OPEN, CABLE BROKEN SOME ONE SAID THERE IS AN EMERGENCY CABLE BEHIND FOG LIGHTS IN BUMPER BUT I CANT FIND IT ANY IDEAS

dont know but I found this reply from another forum.
Sorry this is all I could find.

"I searched for the cable once, it's located in the left front wheel arch, near the indicators. You have to remove the mud fender inside the wheel arch, and there you will find a steel cable with a loop. It goes thru the body to the bonnet lock, Should be very easy to do.

not sure how accurate this is or if it applies to RHD cars.

in theory they should have them, but a lot don't!
normally on 964's the plastic around the actual release handle breaks & the inner cable has nothing to pull against. if this is the case then using a pair of pliers to hold the outer cable may work, but they are usually stiff.
