Pulling my hair out here!

I have 10 years NCB, from first a car (5 years) and then the next 5 from a van. Now i'm wanting to get rid of the van and get a car again. My current insurer will not swap vehicles over so im having to cancel the current policy and go elsewhere. My question is how hard will it be to get an insurance company to accept my current NCB accrued on a van? I do not want to start from zero again.

Help please.

The level of difficulty depends on how good you are at using Google search but on a scale of 1 to 10 i'd go with a 5.

I checked on Google™ for about 30 seconds and it suggests a broker like Adrian Flux or similar is your best bet but normally as a van falls under commercial vehicle insurance you can't transfer it to a car. The vehicle class is different and similar to trying to use NCB on a motorcycle on a car.

I transferred my 7 years NCB from my van to a car using Admiral.

Esure gave me four years ncb based on my company insurance history when I closed the firm and took out my own policy. They needed a letter from my previous insurer showing the amount of years accident free.
