Does anyone know what a good finance rate is from an OPC before i engage in discussions .

I have a quote from elsewhere but have no idea if its competitive as we don't normally finance our car purchases .

Back in May, Porsche Cardiff offered me 4% on a simple loan. I don't know what the current rate is

I bet that was a flat rate one? A nice little con.

I though they legally had to give the APR?

Oh, it will be in the paperwork. Somewhere.

That will be an APR of between 7.5 and 8.5% then.

Yep, I know intelligent people that fall for this every time.

Generally anywhere from 6-8% is the rule for OPC's. Depends on a number of factors, the overall makeup of the deal, how much margin is in the car, whether it's new or used etc

Not one way of saying for sure, but anything more than 8% and you're being taken for a ride

Well I ended up at 6% and also got a little more off the price of the car bringing the discount up to 5%. ( factory order Boxster GTS .

Seemed OK to me ?

Think I may have missed a trick there... thought the OPC finance was fixed and i got the usual 7.9% APR with mine!

So for those who have got 6% APR... did you negotiate the cost to change deal first or % discount and then start negotiating finance % APR?

I must admit I'm pleased with my overall discount on my new Cayman S order (my local dealer offered me zero disount!) so perhaps my APR was not subject to additional negotiation?

I was always going to pay cash so ordered the car after securing a discount .

Circumstances changed so decided to use some finance , negotiated this separately after getting a couple of other quotes .

OPC matched the lowest one .

Did you also get the additional £1500 Porsche/Dealer contribution which you get when you take out the finance after discount negotiations when paying cash?

Was this part of your 5% discount figure if you did get it?

I managed just over 10% all in on Cayman S so perhaps the 7.9% APR was not subject to additional negotiation

I guess your right , bigger discount but part paid back by way of much higher finance rate .
I suspect that S and GTS has something to do with it as well . I struggled to find dealers willing to offer anything off a GTS when I ordered as it had only recently been announced and the cars hadn't even started coming through .

I was also considering the 2.7 Cayman and was offered the same amount discount(cash value) which equals 13.3% so the discount of the Cayman was even more tempting!
