Hi All,
I just finished rebuilding the rear brakes and parking brake on the 280i. After I reconnected the parking brake cable I pulled on the handle and seem to be getting no action at the parking brake assembly. Could a connector have become separated under the center console in the car? Have maxed out on the adjusters.
Help!

Thanks,
john

I have had the cable outer come off at the rear underneath - the outer pulls on one side (caliper lever) against the inner on the other side. If both sides aren't in position it will just flap about.

Once you have checked everything at the rear of the car have a look under the centre console as there is a cone type fitting where the cable goes through the body. When I recently fitted a new cable this cone had splayed open and the cable was slipping when applied due to excessive travel. I managed to squeeze the fitting back together and all is now fine. I think this happens due to excessive pulling to get the car to hold on hills and MoT's yes

Thanks for the advice. Is there an easy way to remove the center console or can you get access without removing it at all?
