The air conditioning pump on my 4.3 2007 AMV recently decided to go bang so I managed to get a secondhand one fitted but nobody seems to know 1. How much gas it takes. 2. What oil it takes, either 45, 100 or 150 and lastly how much oil it takes.
Does anyone out there have this information or do I have to bite the bullet and take it to an Aston Martin dealer?

You can't just fit a new AC compressor after the original went bang.

You've cleared all the lines and fitted a new condenser and dryer right?

The weight should be on the car somewhere near the AC port like the DB9 I'd imagine?

Who is the pump made by?

Thanks for this information, it looks like it could be a good idea to get hold of a workshop manual if I'm look
to do work on the car outside of an Aston Martin Dealership.

Hi Sump,
The pump that was fitted was exactly the same as the one that came off, when it let go it was in the workshop up on a ramp, all the lines were cleaned out but the condenser was not replaced,
do you feel this is essential?

Well it depends on if the crap was pumped around the AC system which if it was running likely it was.

That crap gets into the condenser and it's extremely difficult to flush out nowadays, you used to be able to flush a condenser but with the narrow fins it's not really possible.

So when you fit that compressor that crap is going to go around the compressor and kill it prematurely.

Really depends on how much crap was in the system, I'm assuming the person flushing the lines would have checked this and made a judgement call on what came out.
