My Lotus Exige S1 Turbo

.....Not really, it's an Elise, but it looks like an Exige.
I've only just got it finished (well, it's 90% done, just having exhaust made and needs an MOT), and I'm dying to show it off so here's some pics.
This is what it looked like when I purchased it around a year ago
I picked it up cheap for £6100. There was nothing wrong with it, just a bit tired looking.
The intention from the beginning was to convert it to full Exige spec (not really a fan of the S1 Elise looks wise).
I've changed the engine for the Turbo-K which I got from a written off Rover 75 with only 44000 miles and a multi layered steel head gasket conversion. I'm now running the engine on Emerald management and hope to get around 180bhp once mapped.
I've never been a fan of the whole stripped out minimal look of the S1, so I've added carpet, re-trimmed the door cards and sill covers in leather, and carbon effect film to make it look a little more.....errmmm..... I dunno, but I like the new look.
As you can see, it's lacking an exhaust at the moment, but this is being made as we speak.
I'm sure there are mixed opinions on the red wheels, but I think they look awesome, so ner!

A friend had Dave Walker map the same engine in his Thruxton. Bang on 200bhp was what he got on an otherwise standard engine!

It's a genuine Lotus & the Elise & Exige are certainly close siblings!
Love what the OP has done, including the wheels but I'd probably opt to remove the decals too.

What a ridiculous statement.If you want to use a Ferrari analogy, it would be nearer to taking a Ferrari 348 and putting Ferrari 355 panels on it.
And even then it's nowhere near as close as an Elise / Exige.
