I know this has been asked before but did anyone confirm if this is possible?
They look pretty much the same in the pics and for some reason there is a difference in price with the 4.7 unit being cheaper for some reason.

4.7L clutch kit on 4.3L will ping a P0300 misfire code. Clearly the engine is not misfiring, but the system is upset by different spec. Seen this on every case where this was done. The fix is an ecu reflash.

without ecu reflash, if you can put up with check engine light on dashboard, then ok, because functionally the clutches behave the same.

A code just for a clutch? Any idea why this would happen - there won't be any difference in sensor function that I could think of, unless there is a flywheel sensor, which is common.

Have you seen any 4.7 clutches on 4.3 flywheels?

Thanks for the info Mike. Very interesting it would throw that code.
Any idea why it does that?

Cheers

the code ping'd is for misfire

misfire is identified when acceleration of flywheel measured by sensor recording position of signal teeth in flywheel, goes above an angular acceleration threshold.

in this case, i guess the mass or some other tolerance causes angular acceleration to go outside a window which pings a pcode, but clearly, the engine is not misfiring.

when needing a clutch change the oem cast flywheel is always usually warped, as is the pressure plate, so purchasing of a kit means i haven't come across the mix and match scenario / question you ask because right parts for right car is bought / fitted.
