Evening guys,

Thought I'd join up to the forum this evening to have a browse at some cars of various manufacturers but thought I may aswell put some pictures up off my current car.

I know vauxhall aren't much to the liking of many (myself included with the exception of a few of the vxr range) but having had a few mildly hot n/a hatches I wanted something boosted and took a fancy to the new nurburgring edition vxr due to the handling upgrades as standard.

Ended up trading my ford fiesta st in for a freshly built vxr biggrin

was a fairly big leap up in fun from my st, which was mildly modified with an exhaust system air filter remap coilovers, etc.

The first thing I really noticed was how much fun the dexter differential made the car through the bends, having never had a diff fitted to any of my previous cars.

Wasn't long before the modifying bug bit again with this car, having done plenty of research on vxronline I decided to buy myself an open cone air filter, solid intake pipes and silicone joiners to match.

Shortly afterwards I had a cobra cat back exhaust fitted as the standard system is VERY quiet.

Then a trip to Wg motorworks in Kent for a service and he also fitted a set of matching coolant hoses.

Since then the modifying slowed down a fair amount with just a rear strut brace being added and the Brembo calipers being painted yellow to match the yellow and green theme.

I then added a full 3" turbo back exhaust to the car which I still have on but am replacing with the previous exhaust and a decat downpipe added to a sports cat, because the full 3" system was far too loud and as I intend to do a few trackdays next year starting with goodwood I thought I definitely need a more subtle system.

Just this week iv managed to pick up some 17" team dynamic pro race 1.2s and a new airtec intercooler which will all be getting fitted in due time smile

Hope this has been of some intrest to a few, will keep it updated as I go smile

Do you know the lengths I went to in order to see this thread, hoping it would be a nice S1 106 for sale, only to find out it's a bloody Corsa!

Damn you!!

Nice. What bolts did you use for the steelies/steeloys? And which caps? (Have some C5 steeloys to go on the 306; just not quite sure how it's all going to come together yet.)

Cheers guys, sorry bitwrx I couldn't tell you as I bought the car with them on. But I'm certain the centre caps are just standard 106 rallye caps.

Cheers mate. Yeah they are very capable, once iv fitted the new exhaust system and intercooler il be looking to buy injectors and have the car remapped, should be looking at a safe 240bhp, coupled with the smaller wheels and sticky tyres should be very fun biggrin

Nice car. I have a standard VXR in blue. Lovely little thing but tiring on long runs - that's about the only bad thing I think.

I've read too much to touch it - seems they are fine.. fine.. fine.. dead. Usual story I guess with this sort of thing (don't mod unless you're willing to put real money in).

Keep it up!

Cracking colour, bet its a right laugh around the bends.

Was looking at them when they first came out...asking price of nearly £23k was a slap in the face to be quite honest. Feel sorry for the people who ordered it before the launch. Can get a clean one for half that now.

I drove one of these around Oulton and was really impressed with the handling - diff is much more aggressive than on my R53 Cooper S so you could get a nice 'attitude' in the long corners.

Paul O'Neill showed the car's ability off even better!

He has a point. The charge of cold air, compressed and intercooled will be cooler than hot air, compressed and intercooled. On a mild tune it won't be worth more than a couple of bhp.

Makes a big difference in big boost applications due to the amount of heat generated by compressing so much air.

Be careful tuning these. Number four piston issues wont be far away, even standard they can go.
