Hi
I don't know anything about fixing cars/vans but driving to work this morning and my gear stick went floppy so was stuck in 4th gear. From previous experience I knew that the rod had come of the ball joint under the bonnet. (Sorry I don't know any names of what things are called, that's best way I can describe it) anyway this happend other year and the mechanic glued it back on.
So as I know where it is now I'm wanting to go out and buy the best glue for the job. So could anyone recommend one of these.
Thanks everyone

Gorilla Glue. Make sure both parts are wet before you glue it.
There will be a lot of excess too so only use a small qty and wipe away excess before it sets as once its set....

Why not just go and buy a new part?

Not available? Too expensive?

I used to sell loads of gear change links on old Pugs for a few quid new. (Was a few years now ago mind)

Glueing a gear linkage??
Get a replacement part, surely won't cost much from a scrappy?

Glueing it didn't work last time so it almost certainly won't work a second time. Glue from Halfords is a false economy as it will be money wasted as soon as it falls apart again and you have to replace the part.

In summary, replace the part.

If you can reach it to glue it, you can reach it to replace it and it'll cost pennies usually

Protip: use an open ended spanner to seperate the ball joint if the other non glued end is still stiff
