Anybody know anything about how to run one?

I've agreed to help set one up for our lads Cadet group, they are not currently a reg'd charity.

We have no issue raising prizes (several promised already), and no issue selling tickets, it's the bit inbetween I have no experience with.

I'm absolutely devastated this isn't a thread about The Gentleman Thief.

As above, what bit and inbetween?

Get prizes, sell tickets, draw tickets, award prizes.

Simon.

I have not even bought a raffle ticket for years so have next to no knowledge of how they operate.

Is this how it works:

1. Raise lots of wonderful prizes
2. Set price per ticket (£1 each?) & print tickets ourselves
3. Set date for draw (possible venue & date decided on but in 4wks - is that too soon?!)
4. Sell tickets to parents/friends/family/work colleagues writing their details on ticket stubs
5. Draw tickets & contact winners to collect (or have delivered) prizes
6. Cadets get to bank lots of well needed cash

Calling in some favours on prizes so want to maximise the return on this.

Anything I'm missing?
