Guess the engine configuration

Okay... I have uploaded a video with a random assortment of engine configurations.

Your job is to list them in order, based purely upon the sound they make.

Lets see if pistonheads really knows it's engines

The configurations featured are:

1. Single Cylinder
2. V-twin
3. Inline 3
4. V4
5. Inline 4
6. Flat 4
7. Inline 5
8. Inline 6
9. Flat 6
10. V6
11. Inline 8
12. Crossplane V8
13. Flatplane V8
14. V10
15. V12
16. V16

All engines are petrol powered... no diesel's, sorry.

This will be a crap first post if I've got them all wrong...

1: Straight 8, Maserati race car?
2: Straight 5, Quattro?
3: V4, Saab rally car?
4: Cross-plane V8, tuned Toyota unit? Certainly smaller and higher-revving than the american stuff.
5: V6, Golf R32 as others have said
6: Flat 4, subaru obviously
7: Not sure about this one, going with V10?
8: Single
9: Straight 6, E-type or similar vintage?
10: Not sure, guessing flat-crank V8
11: V twin
12: V12, maybe.
13: Flat 6
14: V16, BRM race car
15: Straight 4 turbo, could be just about any modern hot hatch
16: Straight 3

Had a listen last night, I have five of those at the moment, though only one of them sounds much like the recording - the single. I'll give it another go tonight and see how many I can get.

The i8 is maybe a duesenberg (sp?)
The v4 a lancia fulvia?
The v2 sounds harleyish rather than Ducati or motoguzzi
Flat 4 is maybe an equal length header Impreza

3) Nope
4)Some sort of v8, sound like it could be an AJP8 TVR?
5)VR6, R32 gold, DSG. one of them was supercharged...
6)Subaru... Flat 4
7) Again, some sort of v8 I think.

9)v12? not sure on that
10) Sound like a v10 on the overrun, but cant work it out on the acceleration. V10.
11) twin
12) I6? on Carbs?
13) 911? Flat 6
14) BRM v16, possible?
15) some sort of modern, turbo 4.
16) Inline 3

I thought 2) sounded like a Volvo engine maybe?

4) definately isn't a TVR AJP though.
