Hi I wonder if any one can help me , i recently purchase a caterham r500 and have had no end of problems with it !! Caterhams customer service has been terrible is this normal for them or have I just been unlucky?? The reason I ask this is that they are now giving me all my money back for my r500 but I still have a order place for a r620 for next year and I am wondering weather to continue with the order as I lover the caterham experience but not there customer service and I am worried I am going to have the same problems all over again with them ??
I've been around Caterhams for a while and I find that often a perceived 'problem' with a car is in fact a problem with the buyer's expectations.
When you buy a Caterham you aren't buying a mass produced car, and as such it is an entirely different experience.
Perhaps the OP can tell us what problems he's had and what Caterham have done about it so far?

Have a search on the club web site in the technical help section... maybe someone else is having the same problems?
Oh, hang on... the club has seen fit to hide that now from none members... so you would HAVE to join the club... Ahhh... the club....
Don't bother then... just sell the car and move on.

They're not known for customer service I'm afraid. Mate bought a Roadsport SV, shortly afterwards head gasket blew, Caterham refused to repair under warranty, stating it 'had been on a track' and 'that's not what the car is meant to do'?!?!??? Car was off the road for 6 months+ whilst the argument raged, with the finance company eventually getting involved with their legal advisors. Caterham eventually repaired, but not with good grace. Colleague at work had a similar problem with a warranty claim - Caterham did everything they could to avoid honouring it, but fixed it after colleague formally threatened legal action.

According to the long-running thread in the 'Caterham' sub-forum, they are working on making all archived and current techtalk content available to all. Anyway, if you're enjoying the content, is fifty quid a year really such a hardship?Oh, hang on... the club has seen fit to hide that now from none members... so you would HAVE to join the club...
