My Mum, Dad, Sister, Brother-in-law and Niece have all used Briggs Vehicles at Huntershill in the last few years for service, repair, welding etc and MOT and been happy with the service http://www.yell.com/biz/briggs-vehicles-ltd-glasgo... - they've used a couple of the other garages in the same estate and weren't impressed, and please stay away from the place down behind the retail park at Low Moss, naming and shaming rules prevents me from saying more!

I haven't used the above myself only as my cars tend go to the main dealer within warranty periods, but my Dad was very picky about who worked on the family cars and thought they were honest and didn't overcharge.

Just shows you every garage has its good and bad days, as we've found the opposite to be true!

Re the 'other place', yes, the kind of place where you always need something to pass an MOT, and funnily enough its always something they do. Long story but involved credit card provider cancelling transaction as claimed work on my Mum's car wasnt actually done when I looked underneath (they probably thought a middle aged woman wasn't going to check underneath, supposed replaced mid-section of exhaust just patched with gun gum!) cue threatening phone calls and verbal abuse to my Mother, me going down to have a word - did pass the MOT in the end thumbup
