im selling my van and want to transfer a personal reg to my car. Im confused (doesnt take much).
Ive got a V317 form, does the person im selling van to need to fill out section 2 and also new owner section of the V5C and send it all off together with my payment for the transfer?
Also, the van is taxed at the moment, but i believe under the new rules, I will autocratically get a refund and new owner needs to tax it, but does he need to do that on the day of change of ownership and if so, he will need to do that at a post office right? do they send all the forms off together?

You ideally want to do the reg trf before you sell as it involves new V5 etc

No time for that, van is going next week. I'm selling to a mate so might be better to wait until he gets v5 back in his name and then transfer the reg?

New owner should tax immediately. In practice all the stuff's in the post so he's going to have a few days grace before DVLA realise....
