If you do a search, you'll get your answer. But in the meantime, I don't think there is any difference between the bonnets but the LW has less soundproofing and other bits saving a grand total of about 30kg. They also have no sun visors and the 'stacked' lights as opposed to the standard lighting.

There's a Griff on PH that is similar. I wonder what spec the engine is, Red Rose perhaps?

The cars just come out of the factory, along with a few others, probably Nicoly Smolenski (or however you spell it??) was having a clearout.
Ray (yellow Peril) lifted my bonnet the other weakend at the Mid Essex meet and was supprised how light it was, so i compared it with some others and found it a lot lighter. So started to wonder what else might be lighter.
As for the seats i don't think the side bolsters will take much punishment, but 'cos i'm only little i dont think they'll suffer too much.
A Red Rose engine spec would be nice but i dont think i'll be that lucky, but it does seem to have a larger engine air intake in the 'mouth' than others i've seen?? you can only just make it out in the pic. almost the whole width of the bonnet.

I've been up there 3 or 4 times so far, last month was in my Cerb, but before that it was with my red 350I. We'll have to get together and go up in convoy

Looks very interesting and looking at your profile a bit of bargain for what you have got. Would be worth keeping as much documentation as you can find (plus any you can get from Blackpool) would help with verification come time to sell.

Also unless i'm mistaken, normally the oil cooler is usually on the left hand side, well, mine is in the middle behind the number plate
The only reason i can think of is to allow the oil to warm up quicker by blocking 'some' of the air flow to it at lower speeds

Doesn't the Lightweight model use the "honeycomb" fibreglass, have a lighter rollcage allowing better visability, Tuscan seats, and the "fisheye" lights. I seem to recall that the LW car was suppose to be 80kgs lighter than a standard 4.5, but the 30kgs mentioned above is probably more likely.
The green 96/N car was offerred around the dealers a while back (Jun/Jul) on 16" alloys (so it's got new 18" alloys and tyres?), but the head gasket was blowing/on its way out or something (so I guess it has been repaired). I understood that it's been repainted at some point in the last three years and had a new full leather interior installed in the last two years. During which period it has not covered many miles. So all told it looks like you've got a nice spec and sorted car.

So let me get this straight, "The green 96/N car" that you refer to, was this supposed to be an early lightweight?
If so are you proposing that this could be it?
I was told that mine had 'recently' been re trimmed when the Tuscan style seats were fitted. I'm guessing (a wild guess) then that the wheels were also fitted very recently because the tyres 255 and 235 x 18" (i think) were brand new.

I wasn't sudjesting that my Cerb was a lightweight, but your post did get me confused (it doesn't take much ) What i was thinking is that maybe some parts of my car had been replaced with L.W. parts by the factory.
I was told that it had the Red Rose suspension fitted, but don't know how to verify this.?

Here's a couple of interior pics, the only difference i can spot is the heater controls.
This one looks awefully similar to the 4.7 they did for a few very persistent customers...
But didnt have any 4.7 badges etc...
Whats the engine number? email it to me, I'll run it through and see what info I can get for you tomorrow.
(It could also be a 4.2 that had an engine failure leading to a 4.5 upgrade instead... chassis number and engine number please! I'm curious)
