I took redundancy recently, aged just over 50, and have an opportunity to obtain funding for some training up to £1500.

My background is financial services, mainly retail, and up to a fairly senior level.

I already have full CeMAP (mortgage qualifications) and have done a lot of project and business improvement work over recent years. I already have LEAN/Sigma green belt.

So, what to do next?

I am considering further IFS exams such as equity release and/or mortgage complaint handling as both could be in demand in the future or some project management qualifications such as Prince2 or Agile.

Open to any other suggestions or comments from those who have experience of any of the above.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies.

I don't have any trainer/assesser experience, not sure if there is any training available in my field - will have a look.

Leaning towards the IFS route, can see equity release growing in the future.

How quickly can you get chartered financial advisor?
Quite a few remediation contracts about at the moment that can be good earners
Guess it depends what you 'want' to do as opposed to what you presently 'can' do

It's a question I'm wrestling with too..

If you do go down the CFA please make sure that when you're studying, do not use "revision mate". If you're using CII, purely use the book you're given. Don't make the same mistake as me for my first exam hehe

Generic PTTLS / NVQ assessor wouild probably be the first step , it just opens up optionns within the fieelds you currently have qualifications in and potentially if you found yourself working flexibly or part time actually i nthe business could offer a route to extra income and contacts ...

What is it that you actually want to do or aim for over the next few years? Surely that should be a main driver for what training you will want to do.
