997 GT3 Battery/Trickle Charger
Discussion
Hi everyone, only currently driving the GT3 at weekends and that's only if the weather is nice. How good is the battery in a GT3? How long can I expect to leave it for and be able to start it when I get in it?
Looking at getting a trickle charger too for when the winter really sets in, anyone got any recommendations? What other winter prep should I look at doing? Car is garaged so is it just a case of keeping it on a charger?

996 cig socket is always live.
997 is switched on the ignition so you need to connect the charger directly to the battery.
Progress, eh?
That's not my experience - I was fine using the cigarette socket with a CTEK on my 997 GT3s. 997 is switched on the ignition so you need to connect the charger directly to the battery.

991s are indeed not live when ignition is off.
Cheers
My Boxster 987.2S has now become a third car as is used somewhat infrequently. I'm going to look into a trickle charger but the need to drive it to keep the battery alive is an excuse that I wouldn't mind having. In a similar theme to the OP therefore, what kind of frequency/length should the car be driven to ensure good battery condition?
