Clearing the last of the junk from my late father in laws garage, he was always doing up one old classic or another, and built the occasional kit.

I pulled this out of the loft void yesterday, one of the final bits of scrap left, he obviously once had plans for it.

I thought it looked Triumph/Rover-ish maybe but on looking through "google pics" just can't find it and it's stumped me. The 6 clocks and a rev counter tell me it was something fairly high in the range.

Ok it's of no importance and will be in the skip next week but I'd love out of interest to know what it came from, anyone assist?
I reckon this is the only forum to ask!

Cheers guys

Fairly modern style of clocks. 6500rpm red line therefore not Jaguar I6 or Rover V8. Not Triumph - they used a circular warning light display.

Just seen the post above mine - yes Jag XJ but must be a V12.

Jeez, many thanks lads. That was incredibly rapid!

I never googled the XJ pics for some reason when trying to identify it yeasterday, daft of me. It is a bloody big dashboard though and does certainly appear to be from the XJ family.

So we reckon S3?

Again, thanks. Top guys.

Now you know what it is, Ebay will turn it into £ for you, possibly more £ than you think!

yes That looks in better condition than a lot I have seen. There are a lot of nice parts on that.

Yes and not just for Jags I bet. Stuff like the vents were probably used in other cars. The astray assembly from the XJ for example was used in MF TFs up until 2010.

It looks like an XJ12 Series 2 dashboard, but with a Series 3 centre vent (no bright trim). The dials are Series 2, certainly

Same dash, but no dials and much worse condition - £50

Sell it! There's bound to be someone out there who's looking for just that to restore an old XJ.

Thanks guys for all the info, appreciated. I think wrapping it up would be a problem though, I struggle with packaging a CD biggrin

Why wrap. I would put due to delicate nature collection only.

People may be looking for a faulty dial or two, but most cars still have their dashboards, and this one needs restoring as well.
