After having my 8 stolen we've coem to the decision to change it, to something less likely to end up with our house trashed for the keys...

So thinking about a 2002 on 156 2.4 JTD (veloce?). Do 20k per year so the ecconomy will be a welcome change (if the performance wont).

Looks like £10k or so should get something along the right lines, anything to look out for, and am I right in thinking a deisel wont be targeted..?

Sorry to hear about your loss Rob, Having had a 2.4 JTD for a couple of years they really are a cracking car which is very tourquey while having quite a turn of speed, from a reliablity point of view mine has never let me down (in 185k miles) and the only thing to watch out for seems to be the air fuel meter which is quite delicate (mine is on its 3rd) the clutch lasted till 180k miles and the Turbo till around 125k ish. The only bug bear that does iritate is the doors that look very nice however offer no protection against supermarket trolleys / muppets who park to close so very quicky get little scratches and dinks down the edges of the doors. Mine is for sale however for 10k I should think you would be looking for one with about 30k miles (although I suspect you might get a slightly above average mileage 20v JTD which would be a very nice buy)
