Probably been asked b4 but my car is standing at 39k and still 3mm left on the fronts more on the back.

I think that's quite impressive.

Depends on the car and how you drive it. But yeah 40k from a set is economical motoring.

The Passat diesel I think about 30k or so. The TVR, uh, well, let's say a set of rears has lasted 3k....

Havent had a set last longer than 6 months about 4k miles in the last year and a bit thanks to local farmers not clearing up after doing hedges / using there tractors to mash the thick branches of bushes . I do travel down a lot of country lanes. luckily now on first name basis with local Tyre fitter

10k on the company demo, 3 k on the rears on the chimaera. Tyres are made for abuse, I tool my 73 year old father in law out and did a few donuts the other day, he loved it!

I had Falken 452s on the back of my 320D estate. They lasted 8.5-9k and I don't rag it (you can't with a 320D laugh)

Replaced with Michelin Pilots that have lasted about 18k so far and still have a bit of life left in them. The weird thing is the 452s on the front have done about 15k and also have a bit to go. Hmmm.

My good lady's 118d has done about 45k on the original tyres all round, to be fair we swap to winters so the car has 65k but about 20k of those miles were on the winters

I was on 53k in a Prius iirc and still at 2.5mm or so when I had to change as they were completely without grip so I suppose I could have got pretty close to 60k.
Not my proudest boast smile

I ran a scooter for a while and it was nearly as expensive as running a car. Tyres, rear shocks, and servicing every 5000km. Petroland parking cost were the only saviour, and then I got a free parking space and the maths no longer worked.

In my last job I had an Insignia. It used to get between 22-24k out of a set of front tyres, which is maybe what you would expect.

The surprising thing? One original rear tyre was replaced at 82k due to a puncture, the other original rear survived until just over 90k.......never known tyres last so long!

My parents' Insignia munches tyres like no other "normal" car I've known...10k out of a front pair is about normal, no matter the brand. They've tried Michelin, Bridgestone, Kumho and are currently running a pair of Prestivos, on the logic two of those are the price of one Michelin, meaning if they last more than half the distance of the Michelins, they've been good value.

My daily (Streewise) seems to go through a front pair every 12k-15k. Scooter I haven't had to replace a tyre yet but I reckon probably 5k out of the rear at current wear rates. Elise I can't really comment as the set of AO38's were near the end of their life when I bought the car.

No, I don't blame you, I probably wouldn't. it occurred to me when the third set of fronts we're going on at almost 70k that the rears had never been changed.....after that it became a bit of a game to see how long they could be strung out for.

When measures they seemed to stick at 2mm for ever.

I have a set of alloys with Toyo T1S in the shed that were fitted to my old 107. At 20k the fronts are at 3mm at the shoulders and 4-5mm across the rest of the tread.

The rears are amazingly at 7mm across the tread.

A couple of months ago my workmate told me the rear tyres on the works van are original. It is a 2006 model Boxster with over 115k on the clock! I checked the sidewall date marker to confirm. They don't even look like they have had any wear, either!?
