Unfortunately I spam my S2 and the back end took a crunch. I am worried my suspension may be damaged too.
My question is. What costs should I expect to repair? And should I claim?

I can get the body work replacements for roughly £300 but then the labour and possible suspension damage too?

Sorry for your crash. If you claim for that will an insurance approved bodyshop recommend the entire rear panel is replaced, which is a huge panel extending up to the roof IIRC, and effectively write the car off?

If you do decide to claim that will definitely be written off.

Yes I can get the whole quarter panel for roughly £200 though so the body work shouldn't cost the bulk.

If car isn't too rusty and worth saving, get it fixed yourself ....otherwise write off if you claimed

Don't claim. I don't know why you'd even have fully comp on that.

In the profile pic it looks fairly clean, and depending on mileage etc. they are worth £5k ish, I can understand why he had fully comp.

Yeh the car is mint. I've had 2 body shops say it's repairable but it's just the suspension I'm worries about.
The 2 body shops also recommended insurance so I suppose it's just a waiting game :/

These days fully comp is usually cheaper than 3rd party for 2 reasons...

1) Many insurers don't even offer 3rd party nowadays, so there are a limited number of providers, making them more expensive than the competitive fully comp market.

2) Insurers view people who opt for 3rd party only as a higher risk.

And even where the price is similar, the benefits of fully comp can make the difference - it often has windscreen cover and legal cover as standard, unlike 3rd party.

Havent the body shops given you an idea of repair costs,it may be best to go through insurance and have the car written off but retain the salvage and have repair done privately.

They haven't given cost idea, however one who I know well said don't worry about it... It will be fixed! So that was reassuring.

Bad luck, but I would say part it out, the bodywork to replace a quarter and probably a new torsion bar is going to be expensive, then buy another one.

The vast majority struggle to make £2K. Write off.

Not any more, have you seen the classifieds? A good S2 will easily make £5k. A unloved car with sills needing doing would be closer to £2k.
OP that amount of work at an insurance approved bodyshop, wanting to use porsche parts will write that off very quickly.
Either accept it being on vcar, claim the insurance and the salvage and get it fixed yourself (and make a profit but had a cat c or d car) or just get it fixed and put it down to experience.

I'm not a fan of the S2 but that figure is nonsense, however the rest of the car needs to be assessed to decide if it's worth repairing. If the sills are rotten or the mechanicals are tired let it go.

The cost of repairing the body should be less than replacing the quarter do you think? I can get the quarter for £150 ish but that will be much more work. If looked at closely it may pop out nicely and just leave the paintwork need doing...

Can you video that as you do it? I'd love to see it.

Lol. Nicely maybe the wrong word. I've been told it should be repairable by popping the dent out and filling the bits needed. Rather than replacing
