I was wondering how you convinced Mrs Cibble you needed a 170 mph supercar on an island with a 30mph limit everywhere bow

Another total exaggeration by a PHer who doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. 35 mph not 30 mph! laugh

I explained that the convertible would be conducive to our mild weather, we would take it away quite often, and also that she would get to drive it. Pleasingly my good lady likes to drive fast cars, and isn't one who says 'that's a nice colour' (ironically, in this case, she did say 'I don't like the colour'). She has a red 500 Abarth which is pretty ideal around here smile

Humble apologies, have to admit I have not been to Guernsey

Last time we went to Jersey a very evil looking Merc CL63 AMG with Guernsey plates followed us off the ferry. He didn't seem to be limited to 35mph

Obviously all tongue in cheek BG !! smile

The tunnel is fun there for some engine acoustic mayhem. Have to confess running through there with v12s, v8s, we don't have a tunnel in Guernsey that you can drive through frown

We send evil Mercs to Jersey to scare the locals...

And if I had a £1 for each time someone told me they had been to Jersey and not Guernsey I would be a wealthy man! rolleyes

Perhaps I should have said not been there yet..

My excuse:-
I promised the wife a Porsche Motorsport Bear .. it was a little costly, but it did come with a free car

I love those Abarth 500's......nearly bought one myself to keep the 981 Cayman company. Do you get to drive it much?

I drive the 500 about once a fortnight. Find it quite flat if not in sports mode; when it sports mode it is great fun. The exhaust note is cool for such a small engine. Often commented on. It is her daily drive. On crap weather days we have the Freelander 2 which I drive. Quite enjoy the contrast from the BGTS.

Thank you. She was parked at the local Sunday morning bike enthusiasts drop in ( we have yet to have a car one!) which is a seaside cafe and got a lot of interest. 2nd coat of polish has gone onto help protect the bodywork!
