I've seen a fair few cars with dangerous-looking wheel, tyre and lowering combos over the years, but this one that I spotted earlier (at KFC, obviously hehe) is just mental. It has to be said, not all offenders come from the VAG camp but, as is the case here, they often do.

Aside from the obvious, there were a couple of extra things that made this example particularly bad. Firstly, the Golf in question is actually a GTI 25th Anniversary that, aside from the R32, was the only vaguely respectable Mk4 Golf. Secondly, there were two Recaro kiddie seats in the back, meaning this is actually used to transport children around in. eek

I'll let the pictures do the talking, but basically the rear wheel rims appeared to pretty much be in contact with the arches (what on Earth would it be like with some weight in it?!) and I can't imagine how the front wheels manage to turn, let alone how badly it must ride and handle. I'm no expert on these things, but surely this isn't legal? The number plate was also dreadful, but I think I'll let that go. hehe

I would imagine it has sort of air suspension system which will raise the car up when it's turned on.

hehe Don't get me wrong, it was in great condition and was exceptionally clean, but at the same time it looked like a deathtrap.

Edit: My first thought was air suspension too, but I saw it leave (admittedly from a distance) and it looked just as low.

Not my kind of thing but he/she could have hydraulic suspension which they lower when parked and raise to drive...

Jesus, again? Really?

Did you see it move like that, or did it get raised an inch or two beforehand?

ETA - I really should refresh the page before replying... but still...

If the car is bagged - OP, you're an idiot and need something better to do with your time than just bh about other people's cars.

If it isn't (I'd be massively surprised if it wasn't) then it is a bit silly but not sure worth a post.

OP is a loser, obviously the car is on Air Bags, otherwise the arches would all be smashed in about 20CM upwards.
So not really a dangerous modification at all.

Bagged or not, the wheels are way too big for the car and the tyres aren't the correct size for the rim.

That just looks ste. I have car with air suspention but have no desire to fit bling wheels and have it sitting on the floor. It would look much better standard.

Everyone is quick to shout "airbags!" but I've seen quite a few with bashed, paintless wheelarches that would suggest they run low all of the time

Chopping lumps out of your chassis rail is always a brilliant idea. I don't know why VW did not do it as standard.

Apart from the plate, I like the look of that.
