New VXR8 owner saying hi

Evening all,

Thought it was about time I introduced myself.

Picked up my red VXR8 6.0 LS2 about 2 months ago, I'd wanted a VXR8 for some time, especially watching them @ Thunder Road on so many occasions.

I'm from Slough, Berkshire.

Is anyone else from around Berkshire area?

Hi mate,

Yes I had a very highly modified Arden Blue Vectra VXR, I had won with ease the last 2 years category C @ Thunder Road so thought it was time for a change.

The VXR8 was the natural progression as I've always driven Vauxhalls.

Will definitely attend TR next year, would love to attend a few V8 meets as well.

Hi mate,

I'll get some pictures up over the next few days.

My plan was to do a progress thread but I keep forgetting to take pictures, all I have available would be pictures of all the parts I've taken off the car lol.

Newer Vectra lol

It's quite different to the VXR I had before, it certainly didn't feel as fast as the Vectra, now I've done a few mods to it I'd say its now faster than the Vectra.

Certainly much nicer to drive.

The car came with a Walkinshaw Performance exhaust and LS7 clutch. So far I've done the following,

Replace centre silencer with an X pipe.
VCM OTR air intake
Walkinshaw Camshaft
Walkinshaw headers and cats
Fitted a set of Magnecor leads
And to help improve handling I've fitted Pedders suspension and spring package along with new top mounts and bearings.
