I'm hoping to plumb the depths of knowledge and ideas of the PH massive.
Due to the impending arrival of baby nadger #3 I've blown the life savings on a 2nd hand smax. However it is considerably larger than its predecessor the saab 9-3. As a consequence the parking space under our carport is *just* big enough! however nod wall is brick and from bitter experience I know that an over zealous child or gust of wind can have very upsetting consequences on the edge of the door.
As a consequence I'm hoping that someone will have a good (and ideally cheap! All life savings don't forget!) solution to the problem. My initial thoughts were to use pipe lagging screwed into the wall to cushion the door. Any thoughts about this or alternative solutions?
Thanks in advance!

Child locks on the rear doors, they cannot get out smashing the doors into the walls (oh and cannot bail out when the car is moving)

My initial thoughts were along these lines, but SWMBO has ruled it out she she thinks it'll look stupid!

Already done. However it's in the act of actually getting out(when I have released the wee beasties from their shackl..... Er harnesses) that they can knock the doors into the wall with their shoulders, etc.

Got 4 of these tiles glued to a brick wall in my garage to stop a punchbag getting damaged, they work a treat

I still control the doors of my cars even with the Vikingettes aged 12 and 10. If I feel they will damage the car door or worse, the adjacent vehicle, then I order them not to enter/exit until I open the door. I then open the door for them and if it's really tight I use my hand to cushion the door edge and the door of the next vehicle.
