S3 & editon 30

Hi all. My friend has a dsg s3 8p with a itg filter & a milltek exhaust system. I have had a blast of it & really like them plus it sounds nuts! My budget wont stretch to afford my own s3 so would a dsg edition 30 with the same mods feel & sound similar?

No 4WD on an ed30 would be the main difference.

MK5 R32 rather than ED30 maybe?

You'd need to include a remap for the ED30 for it to feel similar in a straight line; once moving to negate the effect of the Quattro system in the Audi. However rolling on from 30mph or so, I'd imagine they'd feel pretty similar - provided you didn't map the ED30 too aggressively.

FYI - the S3 and ED30 have different engine codes however according to the link below, the two engines share a number of components.

As has already been said, if you like the sound of the S3, go and try an R32. The sound of the V6 is in a different league in my opinion. It is a heavy car and maybe doesn't have the punch of a tuned Ed 30, but you do get 4WD grip, smoothness and bucket loads of character. I don't regret buying mine over a GTI...
