Has anyone out there managed to fit four-point harnesses into a Tuscan? A search back though old posts turns up a few similar questions, but no answers, so I thought I'd check again...

I'm considering changing my beloved Griff 500 for a Tuscan, but I've had harnesses in the Griff for the past 4 years and it'll be a struggle to get used to a car without them. I know the Tuscan seats are better for lateral support than the "chairs" in the Griff, but they're not still not great in that respect.

The seats look like there's room to get the shoulder straps through the hole in the back, without them decapitating you in an accident, but it's the mountings I can't work out. The seatbelt top mounts look too far forward to get a traditional harness bar made up, so I guess it would be down to having mounts bolted or welded on to the chassis above the diff?

Any ideas, or even better, anyone seen a Tuscan with this done?

Cheers,
Pete

As far as I know, it can't be done easily as there are no mounts on the chassis to fit the harness onto.

I have seen one Tuscan with harnesses fitted, but the mounts looked like they were simply bolted through the rear GRP panel with large washers on the back!

Your best bet I'd have thought is to speak to someone like RollCentre who should be able to advise on what would be involved and approximate costs.
