Griff/Tuscan and Eindhoven

Thinking of getting back into the TVR fold again after 9 months ownership of a tasty 400 HC Chimp, 2 yrs ago.
I have around 15k to spend but could stretch to 20.....if I had too. Have been looking at prices and what "experts" have been saying re classic car prices. 80's cars going up, Brit classics coming down/stagnating. (I'm not including silly car prices E types et al) And from what I've seen TVR's seem to be appreciatting NOT that thats my goal.

So thoughts on which one.

Just me and the other half, summer miles, maybe 1500/2000 a yr tops.

Whats the thought on the Eindhoven guys, anyone bought/sold there. They seem to have some nice cars at decent prices.

On a second thought, I've also been looking at the XK8, guess its my age, but they seem quite a bit bigger than the Griff and tusc... but a goodie seems to go for around 5-8k

I visited the Eindhoven shop earlier this year to look at a T350.
It seemed to be a low price but the add didn't mention it being a Cat D and, in my opinion the repair work was not good.
While I was there I checked out the lime green Sag which was again a Cat D and not clarified in the add.
In this case the Sag was immaculate but from my inquiries still isn't worth the asking price.
I didn't look at anything else, sorry.

I bought a 2003 xkr coupe for £12k from a dealer a few months ago as an everyday car ( I only do 6 miles return from home to work ). Nice car but not got the character of a tvr. I have just traded in my 'sunday afternoon' chimera for a cerbera.

I dont know TVRGlen so cant comment on that.
Maybe Cat D is not the same issue in Holland ??? so they may not feel the need to make it clear.

I've had two Tuscans and Two Chiamaera 400's so not able to compare against a Griff 500.
I still miss the Chimaera's as they are a very enjoyable car to own and that noise is just great.
Having said that, I think my current Tuscan is a better car.
My experience has led me to believe that buying as late a car as possible is best and obviously considering condition.
That said, as the newest cars are already 8 years old, my statement is becoming less relevant.

Indeed it is not. However, if the seller fails to make the buyer aware of a vehicle having sustained substantial damage at some point - irrespective of whether the vehicle had been subject of an insurance claim - and the buyer finds out, the latter is entitled to have the sale reversed or compensation at any time (often, the buyer only finds out when they want to trade in the vehicle for another...).

I do like the Tusc and its differant. The griff comes across as a pointy Chump and one reason I sold mine was lack of use for 2 yrs and I just felt it looked a bit like a few other cars...maybe a bit MGB and god forbid an MX5, (I just dont like them at all).
But is there another car for around 15k that has that differant factor> Hence my thoughts of an XK8 and keep 8k in my pocket!!!
