Giardia is a protozoa that has flagella that let it swim. It can cause diarrhoea and steatorrhea (greasy stools). The main thing to consider that it is zoonotic so make sure that you wash your hands after touching your dog and that it is transmitted in the faeces.
cheers he is back to the Vets Friday. You need to start him on a course of Fenbendazole wormer as soon as you can (it won't hurt even if it was a negative result) for Giardia. We usually do a 5 day course (rather than the usual 3 days).
At 50mg/kg (1ml/2kg).
Panacur is Fenbendazole, your vets should have this readily available.

he was given a liquid wormer last week but it was only a one hit type.At 50mg/kg (1ml/2kg).

We are having 3 stool samples checked out and I hope the results will be ready Friday when he goes back.
He is very lively feisty and playful but very small for 9 weeks he looks more like 5 or 6 weeks .
They'll prob ck for campylobacter aswell. Found frequently in pups.
A one off liquid worming dose won't be enough for Giardia (or any worming tbh) unless it was something other than Fenbendazole that was given.
I would still advise asking your vet to get Panacur before friday (and find out what was given last week)
