I just might be tempted to move,terrific vfm,only problem is one might have peeps like you as a neighbour.
Circa £1.5 mil for 2/3 bed appt. in central London,makes you sick.

Yep it's mad isn't it.......what would a 4 storey Georgian Villa with 6 bedrooms cost in London ? It's a wonderful home and we will be sad to leave it but our new home has 1/2 acre of garden for our 5yo to play in .....and more space for the cars

This is insane..... I'm looking at a 75 square meter, pretty average 2 bed flat in Wimbledon that's £96k more then your lovely house sold for! I just don't understand how it can be so much cheaper up north?.. I just assume that the potential to earn must be a lot less. Peoples car payments must be more then their mortgages!.... the way it should be

yes....but London is so much fun......down next weekend to try out this trendy restaurant everybody is talking about "Chiltern Firehouse" and to see "Book of Mormon"

You just have to pay a 400% privilege to own a home down there....Moral of the story is retire "up North"

well it depends where "up north" you live .....I live 80 meters from the best restaurant in the country (Sunday Times 2 weeks ago ) as an example, but Manchester,Leeds and Liverpool don't have a Michelin* restaurant between them. Now in London you have over 50 Michelin * establishments .......but you don't have the best :-) and you have to live in 3 bedroom semi-detached houses which "up North" can be purchased for less than a DB9
