Quick rant:

Little brother was forced off his bike today when a wker of a taxi driver turned across him whilst he was cycling to work in Reading. He rolled over multiple times, breaking his wrist in the process.

The in the taxi drove off, no pedestrians, motorists or anyone else stopped to see if he was ok.

It would please me if they all died a slow, painful and horrific death.

And before all the usual s on here start; no I wasn't there, so don't know the full story, but I can say with complete confidence that I believe him and that he was wearing bright clothing, a helmet, appropriate lighting and some other hi-viz + reflective things. And he pays plenty of 'road tax' on his cars.

So there, fk y'all.

I have to say I noticed extremely poor driving was pretty common in Reading over the three years I lived there.
Best wishes for your brother, hope he heals soon.

All I will say is. The taxi drivers round here driving ability does not collerate with the amount of time they get to practice...

Roads too narrow there, too much traffic, not nice.

And yes, there are a lot of c*nts in taxis around. I'm not really sure if the South Asians you get in places like Reading are better or worse than the cheeky Cockney chappies in central London.

A thousand times this. I try not to generalise when it comes to different demographics and driving ability, but I have never come across a group of drivers who are consistently so rude and discourteous on the roads.

As a PHer who has had the misfortune of Living in Reading since birth...

It's not just Taxi drivers... The Standard of driving around here seems pretty "shocking" at the best of times.

I work 15 miles outside of Reading, and spent the majority of the last 18 months commuting by motorcycle... Let's just say it's always "more interesting" when entering/leaving Reading especially in rush hour.

yes 99% are total s - cant stand being anywhere near taxis in reading or dominoes delivery drivers near cemetery junction - a law to themselves when they drive.

This post will upset a few:

It was a mini cab, so no doubt the driver is a paedophile.

Another Reading resident here, not through choice.

Can't argue with anything so far. Drivers around here are shocking.

come to newham, i am amazed everyday i work here that there are not multiple pile ups, head ons and pedestrian casualties hourly.

amazingly they don't get upset with each other (drivers in newham, special breed i think) mainly because they are oblivious to anyone else on the road!

Left hook? Or turned across from oncoming lane?
Either way, absolutely no excuse for crap driving like that. And to just drive off - what a .

It's the risk of incidents like that that made me get a camera. OK, it might not stop it happening, but at least I'll get the tt's registration.
