Anyone here got a Kia Sportage?
Discussion
Mrs Morgrp has just ordered a new kia sportage- was wondering if anyone on here has any experiences of them they would like to share? by all accounts, attractive and well specced, competent to drive but just wondered what they are like to live with - seem to be very good value for money - almost too good really, I appreciate they are built to a price and don't have the image of some rivals (neither of which bothers her or me for that matter) just wondered if there are any horror stories with them?
It's a 1.7crdi 6spd manual, highish spec

Borrowed a new one when I was considering purchasing a small jeep. Nice drive however speakers and stereo were awful. Interior was adequate with cheap plastics but ok for the price of them, I suppose.
Engine and gearbox were ok as well as the handling. The boot space was really poor though.
Also seemed to be quite economical and I think they look quite smart plus a 7yr warranty.

Cheers guys, we'll only have it for a couple of years - not sure why people are slagging them off, I believe they were one of the class leaders at their release in 2010? - not expecting it to be a drivers car or a premium brand cock extension, just decent honest motor for family duties
We've got the base model with the same engine as our family bus. It's a good honest car, plenty of room in the back, a decent boot, comfy seats and looks good. The fuel consumption on the dash hovers around 45mpg but never bothered to do a proper check and so far the dealers have been good with a few small warranty issues, although main dealer servicing is very expensive - we got ours before any service packs were available...
The interior plastics are a bit hard and scratchy but even on our basic model the kit is pretty good. It won't get your heart racing but it's quick enough and I quite enjoy driving it and for the price I don't think you can go wrong. Seem to be holding their value pretty well too...

As mentioned already, good honest car, worry-free motoring.
My old mans' Hyundai IX35 does pretty much the same job.
These cars offer 90% of the premium brand equivalents imho, for much cheapness.
Depends if you place any value on badge, or want any 'soul' (no Kia pun intended) from your car.
Will absolutely do the job. Sportage looks rather nice in white, and that's coming from a white Audi hater.
