Having a debate.

What is more dangerous, smoking whilst driving or talking hands free?

Excluding the long term dangers. Smoking requires very little conscious thought. It's done almost on autopilot. Speaking on the phone on the other hand can be distracting. So I would say hands free is the most dangerous.

I'm not sure how you'd choose, both can be done well, both can be done badly.

I sometimes do both at once, how an I still alive ?

I assume the second one is whilst driving too?

I tend to talk without using my hands, much unlike a stereotypicial italian chef.

As has been said, I think hands free requires an interruption of concious thought whereas smoking does not, although both have inherent dangers when associated with driving.

Simple answer revolves around which law is more easily enforced...

I'm not a smoker but do go in cars with a few which is where my view stems from.

Using hands, more than concentration as a large factor for my view.

Subconsciously, the smoker will not want to burn themselves, their car or their property with the cigarette. If involved in any sort of evasive action putting this down/out/out the way will take a fair whack of brain power and time making the situation worse.

Re-actively I think smoking is more dangerous.

Pro-actively smoking is safer.
