Everyday Chimaera use and a sloshing noise from door

Hi chaps,

Really loving the Chimaera, so much so that I'm currently using it as a daily which has been very amusing.

One thing to note is that when left out in the rain I notice that when pulling away there is a watery sloshing sound coming from the passenger door. Does mine have a leak or is there some sort of drainage channel in the door?

Probably drainage holes blocked in the bottom of the door.

If you are taking the door panel off, I noticed the wiring multipin connector lying in the bottom of the door.

That's why my mirrors didn't work! Full of corrosion.

It only makes the noise for about 30 seconds, then I guess it just drains away, but I'm guessing that it sits in a pool in the door until the car moves.

Might be the fuel pump - mine makes this noise on a semi-regular basis.

Check the drainage channels but the fuel pipe runs along the rail down there and mine sounds exactly as you describe.

Also,(not related to rain) if there is air trapped in your cooling system it will settle at the highest point I.e. Your heater core which is on the passenger side, this can make a sloshing sound as you accelerate and the air is dislodged.

This is the most likely in my experience.
It's been mentioned by numerous owners over the few years I've been on here.

Is it something that we live with, or do I have to look at fixing? Apologies if a thick question.

My door makes the same noise. There seems to be water trapped in the bottom of it. Mine too drains out, but leave it in the rain and it fills up again, until slowly draining out once more. Probably a slightly blocked drain hole, meaning it’s not draining as quick as it should be.

I was wondering how many of us are actually using our Chimaera on a daily basis?

Then I walked out of my front door 10 minutes ago and a Chimaera rumbles past on the Harefield Road right in front of me.

My god it looked cool as F**k!!!
