Have just upgraded my MAC to Yosemite (10.10) and now my Canon S/W isn't supported. Does anyone know if Canon have released EOS S/W for Yosemite? Had a trawl round their website but can't find anything.

The link is to a list of products - camera software and stuff at the end - and indicates which products are compatible with which MAC OS varieties.

Yosemite is mentioned for some of the printers so it would seem to be fairly up to date. Not mentioned at all for photo software ...

It may work - but experiences elsewhere suggest it might not work entirely well.

It would seem that Apple are in the habit of working with developers through the beta program so that everyone knows what is coming .... and then they change important stuff at the last minute screwing everyone around and leaving the world to expend time and cash to sort things out hopefully for a few months until the next major release but maybe only until the next patch.

By comparison Microsoft are starting to look like saints ...

This is a fairly recent update found on another site.

Note also that all is not exactly sweetness and light in the world of Adobe and Yosemite either.

I think we may have reached a point where some of the developers are paying attention to what Apple say will be coming in the next major update for strategic planning purposes but don't spend a lot of time with it in advance of the official release - or maybe even release plus a couple of point releases lest they wind up wasting effort several times over. I can't be sure of that of course ... but if Adobe are struggling given their industry dominance one has to wonder whether things are goinig awry.

The recent iPhone update problems are not good news either and I have heard anecdotal evidence about someone updating their iPad and having that trashed as well (though quite how it could be as dramatic as suggested - new device required - I am not sure, so I have reservations about that one.)

FWIW, just noticed that my EOS 450D utility isn't loading.

Went to Canon's site, downloaded the update, and all works fine smile
