Currently I have a GoPro Hero 3 which I've used quite a bit over the last few years however about 6 months ago I have an issue with it whereby it will record and name a file but they are corrupt. At first I put it down to the SD card I was using presuming it was faulty and it was sort of confirmed by someone who borrowed the camera from me as they didn't have any problems with there own SD card.
Two new 64GB cards were purchased a few months ago and I've not had any problems until the last two days.
Using the camera at work and yesterday only one out of seven clips can be played. Today six out of eight clips can be played. The others just say file format not recognised when you try and open them. GoPro Studio just crashes when you try and import them.
Now wondering if a card had gone bandit I used the other 64GB card today yet the problems still occur.
It's getting frustrating now as the work I do can't be exactly replicated from one clip to another.
I updated the firmware before these issues started and have just done another to see what happens but could I just be unlucky with MicroSD cards or to the more experienced does it sound like a camera problem?
I also use my phone/tablet to control the camera when filming but don't think that should affect it (it didn't the first time the problems started).
Cheers

Usually problems like this are caused by a memory card issue.
What make/model memory card are you using?
The Hero 3 and 3+ have three recommended memory cards:-
SanDisk Extreme
Delkin Devices 375x
Lexar 600/633x
The other problem caused by 64GB cards is the way they are formatted. They'll need to be exFAT instead of FAT32 and you should always format them in the GoPro itself but if you need to use the 64GB memory card in your computer, Windows XP/Vista might need an update to recognise exFAT.
If you've just updated the firmware, make sure you haven't left the update files on the memory card as this will cause issues also. Format/delete ALL in the GoPro after doing the update.
Hope this helps.

Hi Paul
The MicroSD cards I'm using are 1x64gb Samsung, 2x64GB Kingston and 1x8gb SanDisk. All have displayed the same issues.
I always format the card in camera to try and stop issues and have always formatted the card after a firmware update.
I'm going to spend a few hours testing now to see if the update I did last night has solved anything.
