Anyone around Edgware Road, Tuesday 18/11 at 10am?
Discussion
The best viewing spot is possibly from Edgware Road itself.
Harbet Road will be closed to traffic since that's where the plant is being lifted from, and is the path the helicopter will fly across. Helicopter operations must include contingencies for catastrophic failures, hence public space underneath being closed.
There will be three parts to the lift, since the new plant is heavy:
1. Getting the old plant off
2. Shifting new plant A onto site from Harbet Road
3. Shifting new plant B onto site from Harbet Road
The space into which to winch the new plant has a tolerance of literally inches, so the 'copter should be hovering for a while. We're told it should take around an hour all in.
