Hey everyone,

So I'm wanting to sell my car urgently, have a buyer lined up. Sent retention documents for my private plate to be taken off last Friday. The buyer is being pretty eager to buy the car, so I was thinking of giving DVLA a phone call to see if they would expedite the process if i explain the situation to them?

anyone ever tried this, or is it a waste of time?

Cheers!

Was it just a plate transfer though?

Or a retention. Getting the log book back etc

I doubt they'd expedite matters if you call them.

The clue to the plate being put on retention is the new MOT coming through first with the original reg back on it. This usually precedes the new V5 by a few days.
